They let him go home after about eight days in the Mental Hospital.  They had prescribed him Remeron for depression and Zopiclone to sleep.  He was so grateful for Zopiclone knocking him out to sleep since he hadn't slept right for eight months.  When I came to his house to visit I brought him some Christian lullaby music which I played while he slept.  He could only hear the songs a few moments before he fell asleep because the drug knocked him out cold.

He wasn't responding to God or my prayers and just condemned himself calling himself a tare.  It was very frustrating especially when he looked at me in utter terror quoting a verse out of the book of Revelation, "The fearful and cowardly will have their place in the lake of fire."   He was sure that his fate was sealed and there was no convincing him otherwise.

I refused to give up on Alex although he had given up on himself.  I saw that he believed lies from the enemy.  I knew that God had mercy on him because he was still alive.  I saw that he was so hostage to the devil that his mind could not even conceive that he wasn't doomed to hell and that he still could reach out to God.  I knew that drastic measures were needed.  Now there was no pastor or ministry to run to.  What could I do?

I decided to go on a three day fast.  I worked up to that by disciplining myself not to eat until 6 pm every night.  I planned to do the three days eventually.  I came back to visit Alex the next week.  This time he seemed to reach out to God one night while I was playing some soft Christian music.  Meanwhile I had called a Radio/Internet ministry that we had been listening to off and on that was deliverance oriented called The Pat Holliday Show.  They had prayed for him while he was in the hospital because I had called into their show the same day I found out about his suicide attempt.

I talked Alex into calling the show live while I was there with him in his room.  Over the air live Pat Holliday and Marshall Perot prayed to bind those demons.  They told us that they didn't feel led to cast them out due to Alex being on pharmakeia.  Despite the spirits not being cat out they fought being bound.  When Marshall quoted the Scripture that says, "We can drink any poisonous thing and it will not harm us."  (Mark 16:18) referring to the pills he had taken which failed to kill him; Alex suddenly rolled onto his bed into the furthest corner looking very frightened.  The way Alex's face looked and by the way that his hands and body were contorted I knew that it was no longer Alex but those demons reacting.  They were pretty terrified.  He did feel some relief after they prayed.  They then prayed for him to be able to get off of the pharmakeia eventually but advised him to do it right, to ask the doctor how to wean off or figure out how to wean off properly.

I knew that he was being watched by Psychiatry and that they were demanding he take those pills.  I went and read about the side effects and I wasn't happy at all about them.  They were ruining his memory and cognitive function, and making him slow to near retarded in his reactions.  But he was able to sleep for now.  We were between a rock and a hard place as the saying goes.  It's like we didn't have any other choice at the moment.  Alex was still resistant to turn to God after all that happened and insisted that God had turned his hand against him.  I just continued to play him the music and tried to reach him.

He was so hard hearted, as cold as stone.  He didn't care anymore about anything.  I really worried when he started to tear up photos of himself he had previously had on the wall. I decided to write out a declaration in faith and tacked it to his wall right where is desk was at so he could see it and read it every day. I asked God to grant that Jeremiah 24:7 come to pass in Alex's life. I asked God to give him a heart to know Him, and that he would return to God with his whole heart. Alex allowed the verse to be there on his wall and never tore it up. The picture posted here shows the actual hand written paper that I stuck on his wall. In faith I heartily held on to that promise and I felt like it was some kind of blockade to the enemy.

I had called Pastor Jasinski to ask his church to please pray for Alex and told Jasinski that Alex tried to take his life.  The pastor then told me, "He hasn't called me once since he's returned home.  He's like a dog returning to his vomit!  I have to go, I have a meeting now."   The straws left to grasp were getting few and far between.  At least I had that one radio show that cared.  Meanwhile Sonya told me that she asked her church to pray and she mentioned something about a man from her church that she wanted Alex to meet.  She said that the man and his son had similar problems.  He wanted to encourage Alex.  But Alex didn't want to have anyone visit him.

Finally, I decided to try the three day fast to see if that would help.  The first day of the fast I went to visit Alex at his house and found him at his computer asking people to pray for him and asking for deliverance.  I was totally shocked!  Wow, what a turn around!  Fasting really did make a difference I thought.  So then much to even Alex's surprise the man who offered to pray for him played him a Win Worley audio tape over the Internet.

Win Worley's ministry is anointed to the point where even his tapes, despite not being live make a difference if a person sincerely prays along.  So Alex prayed along with the tape and manifested a few things. I pitched in to cast out pain from his gut that he'd been having.  I pointed to his stomach praying, agreeing along with the tape and with Alex saying, "Pain, come out in Jesus name!"  I was glad to see Alex was finally fighting. After the deliverance he felt a lot better.  The pains in his lower right side had subsided.  I finally thought he was turning the corner.  So then I breathed a sigh of relief.  But I finished my three day fast anyway.

I guess it was too soon to let my guard down.  The next weekend I returned to find Alex to be discouraged again.  I didn't understand why he did not keep going forward.  But I did see that the drugs they put him on were taking their toll.  His thinking and concentration were all messed up, his memory was so bad.  When speaking to him, the delay for him to answer any question seemed like half a minute.  It was so bad that we drove up to a Burger King drive through one day and he placed his order.  Then he drove off without taking his food because he didn't remember to get it!

That weekend I kept feeling God was urging me to give Alex a message about the fig tree in Scripture.  I noticed that he was not himself anymore.  He stood there looking at me as I sat in his room with this glare of utter hatred and distain.  I have never in my life been looked at in such a way by anyone.  Despite this I drew a picture of a fig tree and told him about how Jesus cursed the fig tree and it withered and died.  In the same way we can curse things that are evil and command them to wither and die.  Then I put things like "hatred" and "drugs" (pharmakeia) in the branches.  I felt like God was telling me, "Ask him for the bottle of Zopiclone pills and curse those pills right in front of him."  But I thought to myself, "Nah, he's acting too funny, I can't go that far.  Maybe God's not telling me this."   Unfortunately I didn't heed God's voice.  I learned the hard way that you should listen when God is telling you something.

After I had gone home, the next day the worst thing happened.  He overdosed on his Zopiclone sleeping pills.  His mother held all his pills for him hidden in her room and gave him only his daily dose.  He had gone to the pharmacy to get a refill in order to get another bottle of pills.  Then he took the whole bottle.  He had been keeping this bottle of Zopiclone pills hidden in his drawer all weekend long while I was there, planning to use them once I was gone.  No wonder he got so nervous when I drew the fig tree and was talking about cursing the pills.  I was making him nervous.  Had I done what God told me to do and demand that he give me the pills and prayed over them I think it never would have come to this.  We should always heed God's urgings, especially when a life is at stake.

You know the warning label that says these pills carry a risk of suicide?  Yep, there you have it.  It made him not care by lowering his inhibitions.  It messed up his reasoning and thinking so badly that he couldn't even think straight.  We had taken one step forward and two steps back!  Alex's pain in his abdomen returned with a vengeance.  He cried, "I had forgotten the pain!  Why did I do this?  I was set free of this pain when we did the deliverance, now it's back.  Why did I do this?! "  â€‹All that fasting and seeing such a change only to be undone the next week?  This was very discouraging.

I researched the Internet to find out why Alex was so severely impaired by these drugs they had put him on.  Everything I read backed up what I was seeing.  I had even read in the New Scientist that these drugs actually shrink the brain!  In this same article written by Clare Wilson called, Rethinking Schizophrenia:  Taming demons without drugs, it said, "But the biggest complaints are about the way the drugs affect a person's thoughts.  Antipsychotics seem to slow down people's thinking, worsening the memory and concentration problems caused by the condition itself."

The link to suicide was even more alarming.  She writes, "They can also make people feel both unhappy and highly agitated, a potentially lethal combination, says Psychiatrist David Healy, head of the North Wales Department of Psychological Medicine, Bangor UK."   His study of historical records from a Welsh mental hospital showed that 100 years ago people with schizophrenia were no more likely to kill themselves than the general population.  This suggests it is modern drugs that cause schizophrenia's high suicide rate, he says. But by far, the most compelling thing I read was written by James Stacey, a man who had been on pharmaceuticals for 26 years, but then received deliverance from Schizophrenia.  He says in his personal testimony:

I“HOW TAKING PALLIATIVE DRUGS INFLICTED PASSIVITY ON MY MIND

It was not until the literal power of God's Holy Spirit had blasted wide open the prison door of bondage around my mind that I began to fully appreciate how devastating was the damage drugs had inflicted on my mind over the course of 26 long and difficult years.

Though the suffering incurred during this short eternity is something I shall never have to endure again, I am thankful God took me through the pain of it all in order to understand what every schizophrenic endures when his/her mind is bombarded with medication.

Psychiatrists and mental health advisors do not have a clue of the unending struggle a schizophrenic faces from the moment so-called palliative drugs are prescribed to the sufferer. Unable to slip inside the skin of a patient, they stand a million miles away from the toxic dump unleashed into the life of the one they are supposedly seeking to help.

When my moment of glorious freedom dawned a flood of revelation and insight of truth from Jesus filled my life regarding the bondage I had just left behind. Walking out of my prison cell I understood more about the strong bars of iron and gates of brass that had wrapped themselves around my mind for so long.

Here was the revelation!! The demonic forces that had for so long fancied their chances of finishing me off on many occasions had been given unlimited help and assistance through the paralyzed hold on my mind that palliative drugs had caused. Hellish evil spirits seeing the passive state I was lulled into every time heavy, confusing drugs were unloaded into my mind, watched for my moment of weakness and their hour of opportunity to move in and overpower me”.   http://www.schizophreniadefeated.com/whatispush.html
