On line I saw a man on Facebook named David that claimed to be a deliverance minister that lived in New York state. He used the same theology and methods that Win Worley of Hegewisch Baptist Church used. I added him as a friend to my account and got aquainted with him on the Internet over the course of three months. When I told him of my concerns for Alex and Sonya he then offered to help them. He would do on line deliverance sessions over Skype. Skype is a video chat conference program where people can communicate live with each other on camera. I asked Alex and Sonya to attend these sessions. Usually there were a handful of other people David would pray for all at the same time. Sonya was pretty open to this but Alex was very leery.
One day David offered to come to my home and do deliverance personally. It was in May of 2012. I invited David and his wife Mary to come and stay with us for the weekend. During that weekend they said they would do a short seminar and then deliverance. I had worried about how Alex and Sonya would be able to get the rest of their deliverance. We could not afford to keep traveling. I thought God had brought someone right to our front door to help. I went ahead and invited a few local people I knew to attend as well who I thought could benefit.
Although Alex participated in the deliverance conference he was very standoffish and avoided talking to David. He kept busy in the yard outside. Sonya was pretty eager but skeptical at the same time. When David began teaching Sonya sat right up front but Alex sat in the back of the room. David gave a very nice presentation about deliverance. Some people do not understand how a Christian can have a demon and have been taught in some churches that this is not possible. David explained with the use of some posters that we are a tripartite (consisting of three parts) being. We are composed of body, soul, and spirit as illustrated in the drawing below.

He explained that the soul and spirit are two different things and also gave verses in the Bible showing this:
1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit [pneuma] and soul [psuche] and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Two different and distinct words were used in the Bible for spirit and soul. The misunderstanding comes into play when people just assume that the soul and the spirit are one in the same. Critics of deliverance often say, "Christians can't have demons because the Holy Spirit can't coexist with evil. Light cannot exist with darkness." This is often parroted as if it were a Bible verse when it is not. Their understanding is limited due to not looking to Scripture for the answers. The spirit of a man is the part that the Holy Spirit indwells once he is Born Again. The soul is the seat of the will and emotions. The soul is the temporal life of man within the human body while he is alive on the earth.
The Bible says that the spirit is alive if we are in Christ, "And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness." (Romans 8:10). It is dead if we do not have Christ. It even says, a person can be "...dead while they liveth." (1 Timothy 5:6). Our spirit goes to be with the Lord upon death. But our body of course, will not be resurrected until the Resurrection of the dead or the great "Catching Away". (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
If darkness and light can not be present when a person becomes a Christian then how do you explain when a Christian is in the midst of sinning? Does that mean the Holy Spirit is not present in that person? It means that the Holy Spirit is not participating in that sin but it is of the person's own volition of will. The Holy Spirit in a man cannot sin. That is why a true Christian cannot continue to sin because it will grieve the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit will weigh the person heavily with conviction. Although the person will most likely sin again; as a true Christian he can never truly enjoy it ever again and will eventually depart from sin.
Demons therefore exist in the body or soul part of man, not their spirit, if they are Born Again in Jesus Christ. Sanctification is the process of removing these evil spirits as well as dying to the sin nature.
2 Timothy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. (Book recommendation, Becoming a Vessel of Honor)
At the end of the teaching David called out various demons to be cast out. Sonya manifested something right there in my living room. I scarcely remember what demons were coming out but I do recall that at one point Sonya and Alex had fallen onto the floor and had laid with their heads touching and screaming at the very same time as something came out of them at the same time. After it was over both of them said, "I can hear better now. It's as if something cleared up in my ears."
Meanwhile, the guests that I had invited, a man who I had met who was an alcoholic, and his sister, walked out of the house in a bit of a shock. I guess it was more than they expected. I thought later on that maybe I should not have invited them. Later I talked to David about concerns that I had about Alex. I told what happened when we had gone to Hegewisch. That he had a great improvement but when he went back home he began to be very reclusive, suspicious and negative. I could not understand why he was so isolated at his home and afraid to move forward in life. David said that he discerned that Alex had a strongman of Insanity that still needed to be cast out.
