Backlash

There were so many wonderful things that happened in Alex's life once he had a total breakthrough with his deliverance. The Strongman had been cast out finally!  But, the enemy of our souls fought back. If he could not get Alex he'd go for afflicting a relative. His father was an easy target because I remember him telling me that he'd go on long walks and pray that God take him and spare his son during the times of his affliction. That's not wise to do because the enemy takes advantage of those desires. It's better just to pray for your loved one without offering yourself up to be a target. I don't think God afflited his father in Alex's place because Jesus has already done that for us on the cross. His dad was well intended and did not know any better.  One day Alex found out that his father had been diagnosed with fourth stage lung cancer that had gone to his brain as well. His father was only given about nine months to live. This was quite a blow to Alex's new found joy, but Alex didn't abandon his walk with Jesus. Alex kept trying to encourage his dad and prayed for him to be healed. He made his father promise to walk me down the isle because I didn't have a father in my life.

We married in mid-August and his father was given special permission to walk me down the isle by the doctor. He was so weak that we decided that he should only walk me up at the end of the isle to the altar. I will never forget that day as he struggled to climb the steps with me. We finally reached the top of the stage where he handed me to Alex. They both embraced and then wept. It was a defining moment of bravery that will forever be etched in our memories.

Pedro and his dad Sisnando at Wedding.png

Alex told me that after the photographer gave him our wedding photos that his dad would sit and look that them on the computer and cry for happiness for his son quite frequently. Then that fateful day came when his father passed away. I was not there that day because Alex had been visiting his family in Canada and I was back home in the States. His cousin Sonya and her husband Jake were there along with Alex at his bedside. Alex was putting frankincense anointing oil on his father's feet at the time of his passing and Sonya and Jake were standing near his head. As he took his last breath his daughter Jackie walked into the room, he glanced over at her and then he was gone. Sonya said that right at that moment there was a nice smell in the room and that she saw him enter a garden of some sort. It was only a quick vision that she had. I remembered that his father had told us that he believed in Jesus. He had some nurses give him the gospel when he was in the hospital only to affirm what his son had already preached to him many times. He was given this verse by a male nurse that was tending to him- John 11:25-26 "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?'" His father replied to the nurse in astonishment, "You sound just like my son!"

A few videos are posted below showing how Alex got involved in deliverance ministry to help others. He was more focused on street type evangelism, and liked to pray for people's healing. However, he would pray for other people's deliverance when necessary. His speech contains more of his general testimony about how he came to the Lord.

Note: his middle name is Alex, his first name is Pedro. He would go by Alex in America.
